Organization Vision in Syria

In recent years, the Syrian Arab Republic has witnessed one of the most complex humanitarian crises of the modern era. The war has affected every aspect of life, leaving massive destruction in infrastructure, depleting resources, and directly impacting people's health, security, livelihoods, and education.

The foundations of life in any country rely on essential pillars that cannot be dispensed with:

Agriculture

Education

Health

Human

These elements represent the backbone of any society aiming to recover after crises, and at the same time, they form the compass that directs relief and development efforts toward the real priorities that the Syrian people need during this sensitive stage.

Based on several field surveys and coordination meetings with local actors in various Syrian regions, the ICGO organization has concluded that there is a set of urgent challenges that require rapid and well-considered intervention, ranging from:

• The destruction of agricultural land due to systematic practices that deprived farmers of their livelihoods.

• The collapse of the healthcare system, and the suspension of hospitals and medical centers due to targeting and looting.

• The destruction of schools and educational institutions, and the worsening educational gap among children and youth.

• The absence of psychological and educational support for an entire generation that grew up under the influence of war and deprivation.

• The spread of poverty, food insecurity, and increasing humanitarian needs in the absence of stability.

• Power outages and the lack of alternatives, which paralyzed the operation of many institutions and vital facilities.

• Weak technological infrastructure and the absence of necessary information equipment to keep up with the modern world.

From here, the organization's work emerged as a comprehensive response to these challenges, through implementable development and humanitarian projects aimed at rebuilding people, restoring the land, rehabilitating education, and supporting the health sector, in cooperation with local authorities and civil society, ensuring sustainability and effectiveness.

And this vision is designed to serve as a starting point for actual work programs that make a tangible difference in the lives of individuals and communities within Syria.
